Training Tracking Competency

Competency is defined as the ability, specific qualifications, implicit knowledge of the requirements, and resources required to perform a task. Hands-on training often represents the best application of theory, principles and in-situ operations, therefore delivering the best value for the student.

The road to competency begins with the preparation for any “hands-on” training course undertaken. This includes;

  • Competency in theory, principles, and operating parameters.
  • Competency in Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security aspects of the functions performed.
  • Competency demonstrated through workshops, quizzes, and tests prior to any hands on training.

The Virtual Learning Tools provided by OEG allow the student to learn material anytime-anywhere, and work through the material at a pace of their choosing. Workshops, quizzes, notes, and a final test insure the student is competent and well prepared for the hands on session. Safeguards have been built into the OEG Virtual Tools to insure the course material has been studied, and a full database supports the student’s progress through the materials and records all aspects of their progress.
